Multicultural
Policy
Acknowledging the community
serviced by WHCS is multicultural and multiracial in its composition,
WHCS is committed to providing services to those in need regardless
of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin,
citizenship, religion, creed, gender, sexual orientation,
age, disability, marital status, family status or health status.
The Board of Directors and the staff
of WHCS desire to work towards the dismantling of visible
and invisible barriers to full participation in all programs
offered. We aim to establish WHCS as an organization which
is responsive to the whole community. Implicit in this statement
is the
knowledge of rapid demographic change and the necessity of
WHCS being able to respond quickly. To
achieve this goal, we will:
- provide ongoing programs of education
and sensitization
- strengthen and encourage existing partnerships
with diverse cultural groups in order to promote better
services and support the community
- ensure that there is sufficient funding
to service the changing demographics of our area. -
