How You Can Help Support West Hill Community Services & the Community

There are many opportunities for individuals and groups to support the West Hill Community Services through Volunteer Work, community-based food drives, monetary donations, or donations-in-kind (food items and new or used furniture, clothing, etc.). You can also become a Member of the West Hill Community Services.

Individuals or groups can get involved in a Community-Based Food Drive, such as those conducted by the Girl Guides or Boy Scouts, Such food drives have proven invaluable in keeping the West Hill Community Services Food Bank shelves well-stocked. Food Drives can consist of collection of a variety of non-perishable items such as powdered milk, cereal, peanut butter, tuna fish, macaroni and cheese, as well as baby food and diapers. You can also collect personal care items like shampoo and soap, which are always in demand. Please contact our Social Support Manager at 416-286-2441 if you are planning to conduct a Food Drive project.

Monetary donations are used to enrich and enhance present programming or to help implement needed programming. For example, your donation may go towards the purchase of new toys at the Family Resource Centre, towards the purchase of a new stove for a Community Cooking program, or towards the hire of a bus to bring young children from less fortunate families or a group of senior citizens on a field trip. Donors can designate donations to a particular program if they wish.
